Make money with Revver, online video sharing network

Posted by Ghatozkat on August 06, 2009

revver Revver is an online video sharing network, very much like YouTube but with an added advantage. While YouTube does not pay you anything for your videos unless you are approved to their revenue sharing program, Revver pays you for uploading your videos. When you upload you video at Revver and someone watches it, an ad is shown to the viewer when the video starts which may be either a CPC or a CPM ad.

The ad is shown upfront , i.e. before the video starts. As soon as your viewer sees the CPM ad, you will receive a commission for that impression. Incase of CPC ads, you will earn for the clicks on the ads. However, not all clicks and impressions guarantee a revenue as some ads are targeted for visitors from a particular country. Revenue is split 50/50 between you and Revver.

You can also earn from Revver by sharing videos by other Revver members. You will get 20% of the total revenue and the rest 80% is split between the original maker and Revver on a 50/50 basis.

There are a lot of places where you can share yours or others Revver videos and boost your earnings. I promote my Revver videos using the following:

1) My blogs

2) Flixya

3) Forums

4) Emailing videos

This post from EmbedMyVideo.BlogSpot.com has listed 25+ ways to promote Revver videos online.

If you use WordPress, it’s even easier to share your Revver videos using the Revver WordPress Video Plugin.

How and when do they pay?

You need a minimum balance of $20 to be issued a payment. They pay using PayPal and you will need to wait for the end of the current month to be paid the earnings that you have accumulated in the previous month, i.e. they use a net 30 days payment schedule.

Pros:

1) Better compared to other video networks like YouTube because of the revenue share.

2) Ads load up front, so more chances of impressions and clicks.

Cons:

1) Not anywhere close to YouTube on the basis of popularity, so your videos will have very little exposure.

2) Not all clicks and impressions guarantee a revenue as some ads are targeted for visitors from particular countries. Revver in the first place could have shown only the ads that pay but they don’t do that.

3) They only use PayPal as their payment processor. If you cannot use PayPal in your country, you cannot use Revver too. Technically, you can use Revver if you want to, but you won’t be able to earn.

Here’s the signup link to Revver.
