WidgetBucks is largely a CPC Advertising network that serves CPC ads related to products you choose like mp3 players, laptops, camcorders, digital cameras etc. The thing that makes WidgetBucks an ideal ad network to join at this time of the year is the fact that it’s shopping season now and as WidgetBucks serves product related ads, you can really gain a higher CTR (Click Through Rate) for the widgets now. The fact that WidgetBucks has introduced custom widgets for this shopping season also ensures a higher CTR. WidgetBucks is known to produce better results with product related web sites or blogs but as it’s holiday season now, other types of web sites and blogs can also get some really good CTR.
WidgetBucks pays on a CPC basis or on a CPM basis or nothing at all depending upon where your visitors are coming from. Visitors from the countries that appear on the list (on the left) are paid either on CPC or CPM basis as denoted in the list. Visitors from any other countries won’t yield any money for you even if they view or click on your ads.
You don’t have to care about who gets CPC or CPM ads as this is automatically taken care by WidgetBucks, sensing where your visitors come from. I stay in a country which is neither listed in the CPC nor in the CPM list. Most of the times, I see no ads at all when I open my blog from my place. That’s actually good because when the ads are not paying, there’s no point in showing them, but this does not happen all the time and I sometimes see ads when I open my blog from my place. Has anyone else experienced the same?
How can I join WidgetBucks?
Here’s the signup link to WidgetBucks.
New publishers are required to submit information upon sign-up, including domain information, site types, as well as additional location and contact information. The support team will review the publisher’s information and site(s) and then approve/enable the account or deny (along with a reason).
How much does WidgetBucks pay?
WidgetBucks web site states:
We have noticed that well-placed, contextual WidgetBucks ads can yield over very high eCPM, in many cases over $6 eCPM.
I guess whatever their web site states is true because for 4 clicks, I have managed to make $1.35 at around 0.34 per click, which is not bad at all, so if you can get 20 people out of 1000 to click on your WidgetBucks widget, you can make $6.8, which corresponds with the “over $6 eCPM” stated by WidgetBucks at their web site. However, bear in mind that WidgetBucks is useless if your traffic is not coming from a country listed in the PPC list above. Traffic from countries listed in the CPM list give you around 10 cents per 1000 impressions which is…..BAD.
How do the Widgets look like?
Their newly introduced widget specially for this shopping season looks like this:

Now with widgets like the one above flashing on your web site this shopping season, you would certainly get a boost in the CTR as I we discussed earlier.
Generally, WidgetBucks widgets look like these:

How do they pay?
They pay you using either check or PayPal. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can sign up with PayPal form here. They make payments 45 days after the end of each month and the minimum account balance that you need to accumulate before requesting a payout is $50.
Does WidgetBucks have a referral system?
YES.
When you refer a new WidgetBucks user, you will receive a 5 percent referral fee based on the commissions earned by the people you refer. You’ll receive this 5 percent for the full 12 months after the new member joins.
Can I use WidgetBucks with AdSense?
AdSense’s TOS state that other ads may be placed on the same page displaying AdSense ads, as long as they are distinguishable from AdSense ads. As WidgetBucks serves dynamic and flashy flash ads, they certainly look different from the AdSense Ads, so WidgetBucks and AdSense can co-exist on the same page!
Any downsides?
Yes, publishers have complained about the loading time of the flash widget. Test different widgets on your page and if they really load late, try putting the widget somewhere towards the middle or the lower part of your page because that would make sure that the widget would load by the time your visitor reaches there.
So guys, here’s a chance for you to make the most out of this shopping season by using WidgetBucks on your web site. Here’s the signup link to WidgetBucks once again.
