Many of you reading this post might already be using Yahoo Answers. But how many of you use it as a traffic source? I used to visit it very less, but recently I decided to be more active at Yahoo Answers in a hope to increase traffic to my blog. And the result is, I have succeeded getting sizable amount of targeted traffic from it. The amount of traffic you get from Yahoo Answers is directly proportional to the number of questions you answer there with a link to your blog.
I used to undermine it but not anymore. Yahoo Answers is overlooked and not so much talked about under Traffic Building, but it’s time you rethink and seriously start using it if you want to increase traffic to your blog. And if your blog is young and does not get much traffic, it’s a must join.
I’ll now jot down the steps you need to follow to get maximum traffic from Yahoo Answers:
- Search for questions that best match with your blog/website’s subject so that whenever you answer the questions you can put your blog’s link or a link of a relevant blog post as a reference. For e.g. I search for questions related to “make money online”. This helps to increase the amount of targeted visits as well.
- Search regularly. If you have time, search several times a day, and try to be the first one to answer a question as replying late will put your answer down in the list and there’s a big difference in having your link at the top of the page than at the bottom or middle of a page.
- Answer properly and answer as many questions as you can so that people start trusting you more. It gives you 2 points per answer and 10 points per best answer. More points mean more trust from people. It’s great to find out later that your answer has been selected as the best answer by the person who posted the question. Nothing’s better than the knowing your answer has helped someone. If your answer can achieve getting the best answer tag, there are two benefits, first you get 8 more points (regular answers get you only 2 points), second your answer with a link to your blog is placed on the top of the page, hence more traffic.
- If you are looking for traffic from a particular country, you can select questions asked from a particular country and answer them. Hence, you are able to receive geo-targeted traffic from it.
- This one is more of an advice, if you cannot find questions relevant to your blog’s subject, work around a bit and put a link to your blog somehow in your answer.
Hence, if you are not using Yahoo Answers, you are missing some targeted traffic to your blog. You will be surprised to know that people have written traffic building books on Yahoo Answers. Act fast and join Yahoo Answers. Actually you just need a yahoo id to join. The same id you use for Yahoo Mail will do.

I would also start to use the service.
