If you are a beginner, you must me wondering what do terms like GPT, PTC, PTR etc. mean?
In this post, I will try to educate you about these (until now) alien terms so that when you come across these words again, you don’t have to wonder again.
Listed below are some common terms used in “making money online” field:-
GPT – Get Paid To
GPT actually does not represent any particular kind of action for which you can earn money, but it simple means “Get Paid To”.
PTC – Get Paid To Click
PTC programs are programs which pay you for clicking and viewing advertisements. There are a lot of PTC programs out there. Bear one thing in mind, majority of these programs are scams.
PTR – Get Paid To Read
PTR programs will send you emails and they show ads on those emails or provide a link to ads elsewhere.
PTS – Get Paid To Sign Up
PTS programs pay you when you sign up with other companies that these PTS programs have listed in their website. You are generally required to send PTS programs confirmation emails that you receive after signing up with other companies and you get paid.
PTP – Get Paid To Promote
PTP programs let you earn money when you advertise their links. The more people open your link, the more you earn.
Get Paid To Post
Paid To Post generally means to write sponsored posts on one’s blog for money. But Paid To Post also refer to posting on forums that pay you for posting.
Get Paid To Socialize
Very much like Hi5 and MySpace, these programs pay you to socialize. The more you socialize, the more you earn.
Get Paid To Sell/Share Pictures
If you own a nice digi-cam and can take some good pictures, then you can upload your pictures, and when people view or download your pictures, you earn money.
Get Paid To Search
Like Google search or Yahoo search, Paid to search programs pay you for searching. Very simple, ain’t it?
Get Paid To Take Surveys
Like real life surveys, online surveys are conducted by asking questions to you online. You earn for the surveys you complete. Online surveys can be a very good source of income if you live in countries like USA, UK, Canada.
Get Paid To Complete Offers
Some big companies are paying a lot of money to have users like you try their products and services for free. Paid to complete offers programs pass that money on to you. Simply complete free offers and get paid.
Get Paid To Use Software
These programs pay you when you use their software. In many cases, the software is a toolbar on which the company that pays you shows ads to you. This way, they earn money from advertisers and distribute a small portion, sometimes big too, to you as well.
PPC Ad Networks
PPC stands from Pay Per Click. You can join PPC companies, place ads on your website and every time a visitor clicks on those ads, you earn money.
CPM Ad Networks
CPM stand for Cost Per 1000 impressions. M is the Roman numeral for 1000. CPM Ad companies place ads on your website and they pay you per thousand impressions that you generate on your website. Unlike PPC ads, CPM ads need not be clicked to earn money.
Freelancing
Wikipedia defines Freelancer as “A freelancer or freelance worker is a person who pursues a profession without a long-term commitment to any one employer”. Freelancing is the action of the freelancer. There are websites that act as a bridge between employers and the freelancer for short term projects. These sites generally let freelancers bid on projects. Over the recent years, freelancing online have been on the rise because it lets people do what they know and what they want to. Employers also benefit because they get to select the right person from a lot of choices and as it generally involves bidding, it’s the most cost effective way for them to get the job done.
Affiliate Marketing
Wikipedia defines Affiliate Marketing as “Affiliate marketing is an Internet-based marketing practice in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought about by the affiliate’s marketing efforts”. Under this system, you need to influence buyers to buy products or to take certain actions as required, and when a product is bought using your affiliate links or the required action is taken, you get a certain commission.
This list of making money online programs contains the links to different programs that I have talked about above. I recommend you to join as many programs as you can based on how much time you can put in. Joining just a few is not going to fetch a lot of money for you unless you have a very big referral base. Hence, I suggest you to join as many programs as you can, so that you can have a nice flow of cash.
